Terms of Service

The following terms and conditions govern all use of the viz.sumApp network mapping platform (the "Platform") available at viz-sumapp.net, and all content, services, and products available through the Platform. The Platform is owned and operated by Greater Than the Sum ("we", "our", "us").

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Platform. By signing in or using any of the services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization.

Description of Services

The Platform provides interactive network mapping and visualization tools. Account administrators link data sources (Google Sheets or JSON), configure map appearance and behavior, and publish interactive network maps for their viewers.

The Platform is a visualization tool. It reads and renders data — it does not collect survey responses or generate original data. For data collection services, see sumApp.

Accounts

Access to the Platform requires a Google account and an invitation from an account administrator or platform operator. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must provide accurate information when setting up your account. You may not use another person's account without their permission.

Your data

We claim no intellectual property rights over the data you provide to the Platform. Your spreadsheet data, map configurations, and project content remain yours.

By publishing a network map, you agree to allow viewers with the map link to view the rendered content. You consent for your project data to be accessed by us as needed to operate the Platform.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use and share any data you link to the Platform. Do not link data sources containing information you are not authorized to share.

Google API access

When you link a Google Sheet, the Platform requests read-only access to that spreadsheet and permission to share it with our service account. These permissions are described in our Privacy Policy. You may revoke access at any time via your Google Account permissions.

The Platform's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Upload or link content that is defamatory, obscene, or promotes hate or violence
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or the servers and networks connected to it
• Use the Platform to distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Platform except through provided APIs

Intellectual property

The Platform software, design, and documentation are the property of Greater Than the Sum and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding.

Service availability

We strive to keep the Platform available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Greater Than the Sum shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Platform at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason, with or without notice. You may stop using the Platform at any time. Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and disclaimer of warranties) will survive.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active account administrators by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
